tuca reinés - o olhar em suspensão
tuca reinés – o olhar em suspensão features a series of aerial photographs taken by Tuca Reinés in 49 Brazilian cities during more than one hundred hours of a helicopter flight over almost two years. The numbers indicate the magnitude and meaning of this unprecedented experience, possible only due to Reinés's background in architecture, his extensive experience and technical domain as a photographer, and his aesthetic sensibility. For architects, urban planners, and social scientists, among other specialists in urban studies, the images may prompt different analyses. For the residents of these and other Brazilian cities, the photos can stimulate affection and the perception of each municipality's value; it can also generate critical reflections on their histories and paths to follow. In addition to the photographs, the book presents critical essays by Agnaldo Farias and Rafael Urano.
The publication, elaborated by Associação para o Patronato Contemporâneo (APC) through a commission by Santander Bank, celebrates the second anniversary of Santander Select, which has branches in all the cities documented in the series.
