José Patrício, Percursos de Criação
The exercise of writing about one's own trajectory in the arts can be challenging: memories, feelings and understanding changes through different lifetimes are obstacles to reaching a synthesis. However, the Pernambuco artist José Patrício accepted this provocation in Percursos de Criação. In the bilingual publication, in Portuguese and English, José Patrício writes about his discoveries, investigations and experiments with craft paper, dominoes, dice, buttons, plastic game pieces, among other objects from popular commerce and Brazilian's everyday life situations.
The book, edited by the critic, curator and professor at UFRJ Felipe Scovino, brings a meeting between author, biography, research and the work as a whole in an art book model that addresses the stages of production, catalogs works and series and, above all, brings the particular look of the author, in addition to having several archival images, works and accessible text, in a light and attractive graphic design.
